Features
- The Sleep Deprivation system is designed to prevent animals from sleeping during the study period. It accomplishes this using a rotating arm that exerts a force on an animal. The speed of the arm, as well as the sleep threshold and the duration of the arm movement are all software configurable.
- The speed of the arm is configurable
- The arm can be configured to rotate a specified number of times
- An "Unconditional" mode (the arm moves regardless of detected sleep) is available and may be used to establish a control group for baseline values.
- The system automatically detects sleep using the "Open Field - Locomotor Activity" sensors.
- Users may also choose to use an external TTL signal to indicate sleep (used for integration with third party systems).
- The system allows for a configurable habituation period during which the animal can acclimate to the environment.
